This was a performance created in collaboration with Matt Romein. Each of us made a bootable clone of his personal computer hard drive, and then we traded for a two-week period. During that time, we had full access to all of each other's files as well as many online accounts (through browser cookies and saved passwords). The only restriction was that we could only observe—we couldn't use our access to destroy information or impersonate each other. At the end of the exercise, we presented a pair of interleaved presentations on what we'd learned about each other's lives.
